ChemCo Systems concrete coatings are intended primarily for industrial applications as protection from corrosive acids, alkalies and solvents as well as fuels, oils and greases. All of our coatings are 100% solids, are not flammable, have very low shrinkage, contain no solvents or water, and have 0 VOCs so they can be used almost anywhere. Most are capable of being installed on damp substrates and we even make a couple of underwater coatings for fresh or salt water. A wide selection of epoxies and a quick curing, very flexible polyurea membrane are available. Our chemical resistant novolac epoxy coating has the capability of resisting up to 94% sulfuric acid (battery acid). Many of our epoxy coatings are used in loading and handling areas that require double (secondary) containment of hazardous materials.
ChemCo’s epoxy-based concrete coatings are self-priming but in many applications (particularly for high chemical resistance or immersion service) the desired film thickness may require a build up of multiple coats. Multiple coats also protect against corrosive products undercutting caused by very small pinholes or holidays. Polyurea Membrane offers high flexibility and very fast cure (can be opened in ~2 hours) without the need to heat and spray it through specialized (heated impingement mixing) equipment—it can be placed manually by roller or squeegee at ambient temperatures. All of these coatings can be skid-proofed by embedding sand or grit into the surface layer or back-rolling a thin coverage over the broadcast particles. Epoxy Healer/Sealer has found new applications in decorative custom concrete counter-top finishes in addition to beneficial improvements when restoring older and cracked concrete floors in retail, commercial and industrial floors during grinding and polishing operations.It is popular for use in parking decks as well.
